Clare Makes Is...

Me! I’m Clare, a former beauty blogger turned candle maker who started pouring during lockdown, craving the scent of wild native blooms over mass-produced blends. I was married under a eucalyptus tree, and I’ve been chasing that grounded, unmistakably Australian scent ever since.

Clare Makes began as a creative lifeline and became a love letter to Australian botanicals, culture, and identity. Every product is handmade in Newcastle using native ingredients, bold design, and a dose of storytelling. No filler, no shortcuts, just thoughtful home fragrance made with care.

I’m not a gardener, but I am a homebody. I want your home to smell like the outside: lush, personal, and meaningful. Think of me as your scent guide, always sharing styling advice, storytelling, and what’s actually worth your time.
